Do not bite or chew hard on filling for 24 hours.

Very hot or cold foods and beverages can disrupt the bond of fillings. Composite fillings are generally bonded to the tooth. The bonding process continues for at least 24 hours, so it’s advisable to consume lukewarm foods/beverages during this time.

Avoid consuming coloured food or beverages such as coffee/tea/cool drinks for next 24 hours as it may stain your new composite fillings.

You may experience cold and heat sensitivity, this usually subsides within few days with tooth colored fillings.

Call us, if you experience pain or discomfort for more than a few days after the fillings.

One of the most common problems following filling placement is an incorrect bite. If your bite feels uneven please call our dental office so we can get you scheduled to correct your bite.
